Uninstalling GlazeChem 2.1
==========================

Before uninstalling GlazeChem:
------------------------------
The uninstall program will remove all the files that were placed on your computer during
installation, INCLUDING DATA FILES, even if you have subsequently modified them. If you
have GlazeChem data files that you want to save, be sure to make copies before you
uninstall GlazeChem. You may also want to make a copy of THIS FILE (Uninstall.txt),
since the uninstall program will remove it as well.

To uninstall GlazeChem:
-----------------------
Part 1
 1. Open your Windows Control Panel (Start | Settings | Control Panel).
 2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
 3. Select GlazeChem from the list.
 4. Click Add/Remove.
The uninstall program will ask you if you're sure that you want to remove
GlazeChem. Click Yes to proceed.

During the uninstall you may be asked to confirm that you want to delete certain
files starting with "GS", in particular GSW32.EXE, GSWAG32.DLL, GSWDLL32.DLL,
GSWJPG32.DLL, and GSWPNG32.DLL. These are the Graphics Server files. If you have
installed other software that uses Graphics Server for graphing functions, removing
these files will probably cause the other software to malfunction. The files take
up nearly a megabyte of disk space, though, so if you're not sure, you might want
to risk it. If you later find out that you did have other software that needs those
files, you can either reinstall that software, or reinstall GlazeChem and install
only the Graphics Server files (choose Custom during the installation).

If you don't remove the Graphics Server files during the uninstall process, but
decide you need the disk space later, you can find them in your Windows/System
directory.

At the end of the uninstall process, the uninstall program may display a message
saying "Some elements could not be removed. You should manually remove items related
to the application." If so, proceed with Part 2.

Part 2
 1. Click Details to see the items that could not be removed. For example, it may say:
      Unable to delete folder 'C:\Program Files\GlazeChem\GlazeChem 2.1'.
Unable to delete folder 'C:\Program Files\GlazeChem'.
      Unable to delete folder 'C:\glazedata'.
Make a note of these items. (The reason that the folders can't be deleted is that there
are files in these folders that were put there after installation, and the uninstall
program doesn't want to take responsibility for deleting them.)
 2. Click OK to close the dialog boxes.
 3. Open Windows Explorer and locate the items mentioned in the Details dialog box.
 4. Drag them to the Recycle Bin.
 5. Go to your Windows directory. Drag the file GlazeChem.ini to the Recycle Bin.

That completes the uninstall process.
